Kali, also known as Escrima or Arnis De Mano is an ancient martial art from the Philippines. It is often called "Kali". It is also commonly known as Arnis de Mano or Escrima coming from the Spanish language and other outlying provinces have different names for it."Filipino Martial Arts," or FMA, emphasize weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives, bladed weapons and various improvised weapons. Kali was developed by the native Filipino tribesmen centuries before the first Spanish invasion of the Philippines by Magellan in 1521 and later some of the Spanish sword and rapier techniques were assimilated into the art.
